Having difficulties making your payments?

Austin FCU is here to help.  We understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected challenges your way, and keeping up with loan payments may become difficult. If you’re finding it hard to make payments, don’t wait—reach out to us as soon as possible. The sooner you let us know, the more options we have available. Below you will find more information about some of the tools we have to assist you:

Grace Period

All Austin FCU loans come with a 10 day grace period. This means that you can make your payment up to 10 days after the due date without paying late fees. So if you just need a few extra days this month, don’t worry about it – pay before the grace period is up and you can carry on next month like usual.

Due Date Changes

We understand that managing bills alongside your paycheck schedule can be tricky. To make things easier, we offer the option to change your loan due date by up to 14 days. This small adjustment can help align your payments better with your income or other financial obligations. If you think this could help you stay on top of your payments, contact us to discuss changing your due date!

Skip – A - Pay

Just need a little extra room in the budget this month? All Austin FCU loans are eligible to Skip up to 2 payments per calendar year, as long as six consecutive payments are made before each skip. The fee for skipped payments is $35 for loans where your payment is $499.99 or less and $45 if the payment amount is $500 or more.

Hardship Deferral

If you’re facing a temporary hardship, you may be eligible to defer a loan payment. You can request up to 2 deferrals within a 3-year period, as long as your loan is no more than 2 months delinquent at the time of your request.

To request a Hardship Deferral payment, simply fill out our Online Hardship Deferral Request or email us at [email protected]. Let us help you get through this rough patch!

*Application is subject to approval and may not be available for all loan types.

Refinance

If you're struggling to keep up with your current loan payments, refinancing may be an option to help lower your monthly amount. We treat this like a standard internal refinance and may even offer a term extension to help reduce your payment if needed. Keep in mind that you'll need to meet our underwriting criteria, and your vehicle must meet collateral requirements.
